Campaign Recap: Justin Bieber Haiti Relief Fundraiser

November 8th, 2021

Propeller teamed up with Justin Bieber and Project Medishare to help raise money to provide critical supplies and support for those impacted by the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on August 24th.

Together almost 1,500 people contributed over $77,000. Here's the latest from Project Medishare about how the funds are being used:

Since the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on August 14th, Project Medishare has provided 5,000 emergency food and hygiene kits to families in need and hosted mobile clinics in communities that lack access to health care and had not yet received medical assistance since the earthquake. Along with these initiatives, Project Medishare has distributed tens of thousands of pounds of critical medicines, medical supplies and equipment to partner hospitals and clinics treating earthquake victims.

In the coming weeks, Project Medishare will be distributing 2,000 additional food kits and 200,000 water purification tablets to families in need, as well as 2,000 children's comfort kits to help kids recover from the trauma of the earthquake. Project Medishare's medical team will be holding mobile clinics and providing training and education to local community health workers and midwives to empower them to deliver care to their fellow community members. At this training, they will be distributing 2,000 clean birth kits to midwives to help reduce the maternal and infant mortality rates, which are very high in these areas. Project Medishare is committed not only to the immediate disaster response, but also to medium and long term recovery projects to build capacity in the health sector and help Haiti recover from the earthquake.
