Winner Recap: Travel to Costa Rica and Explore Active Volcanoes & Untouched Rainforest

June 24th, 2022

First and foremost, we would like to thank Propeller for the opportunity to win our trip to Costa Rica and your team's assistance with organizing our itineraries. It was an amazing and memorable experience that we would cherish forever.

Like all other long distance relationships, we live far apart and only get to visit each other every few months. As one of us lives in Australia, we could not travel to see each other for more than two years due to Australia's strict border restrictions in response to COVID pandemic. It had been very challenging and emotionally taxing for us during that period, and we are extremely grateful that we won the Costa Rica experience for our anniversary.

Since the announcement date that we won the trip in August 2021, we were constantly checking for updates on travel restrictions and finally went on our trip in early May 2022. It was a great time to visit Costa Rica since it was not too hot or cold during the first week of May. The experience was smooth running and well organized - from getting picked up at the airports to moving around different parts of Costa Rica and attending various tours. We loved all the accommodations and their features, as well as the tropical weather and scenery. We went to various hot springs, ziplined through the forests, rappelled waterfalls in Liberia and Arenal as well as white water rafting down the Pacuare river. We got fed with delicious tropical food and were welcomed by the warm hospitality of Costa Ricans. Our knowledge base was broadened and enriched by learning about their histories, their cultures, their indigenous tribes and how they plan to do tourism with sustainability.

Winning the eight day trip to Costa Rica has helped us to find the joy in traveling again after two difficult years and enjoyed each other's company while exploring a different part of the world. We are also reminded that we, regardless of race or cultural differences, only have one Earth to treasure and protect.
