Winner Recap: Win a Home Run Trip to Extra Innings Festival in Tempe, AZ!

March 10th, 2024

Bryan S. from Oregon was the winner of the Propeller experience to "Win a Home Run Trip to Extra Innings Festival in Tempe, AZ!" that took place in March 2024. Below are some of Bryan's highlights from the experience.

When my wife and I were driving to the airport we were still in disbelief that we had won this amazing experience from Propeller. We were leaving the cold, rain and snow in Portland, Oregon for the sunshine and warmth in Tempe, Arizona for the 2024 Extra Innings Music Festival.

Once we landed in Phoenix we headed to our hotel the Downtown Phoenix Moxy. The hotel check in was at the hotel's bar. We were greeted with a cocktail upon arrival. The hotel's lobby was bright and vibrant with cool murals, video games and band posters pinned to the wall. This was the perfect place to stay for a music festival.

During this first night, my wife and I explored downtown Phoenix. We were impressed with all the murals we saw painted all over the city. The nightlife, food and drinks were  amazing as we went to bars such as Ghost Donkey and Cham Pang Lanes to bowl and drink Mai tais.

We wanted to explore Arizona as much as possible on this trip so early Friday morning we hit up the Botanical Gardens in Tempe. This place was very pretty and relaxing. We saw so many plants and cacti that we don't have in Oregon. This was the perfect stop before we went to the fest.

We got to the Extra Innings Festival right when the gates opened. My wife and I walked around the grounds, bought some merch, took some pictures and then headed to the stage to watch some music. We had VIP tickets which was incredible.  This gave us access close to the 2 main stages, a lounge, air conditioned bathrooms, and free beer throughout the festival.

My wife and I walked alot between the 2 stages. They weren't close to each other so that meant lots of walking. My wifes fitbit said we walked about 10 miles a day. It was totally worth it to check out so many cool bands.

The first day had more of a country lineup with many cowboys and cowgirls in the audience. Some of our favorites on this day included Ryan Bingham, Charley Crockett and the Turnpike Troubadours. The headliner was Chris Stapleton which drew a huge crowd and didn't disappoint. He played for an hour and a half and was the perfect closer for the first night.

Once again my wife and I got to the festival as soon as the gates opened for the 2nd day.  We explored the baseball side of this festival on this day. They had batting cages and a place to test your arm with the fastest pitch. They had baseball legends walking around and signing autographs for fans. There were alot of baseball fans in town for spring training and this festival does a great job blending baseball and music together.

The Dave Matthews Band headlined the show and jammed for over two hours while fans danced till the very last song. My favorite singer of the whole weekend was Noah Kahan. He had one of the biggest crowds the whole weekend and his fans were wanting more after his hour long set. My wife's favorite was Sheryl Crow, her set consisted of sing alongs we all know from the past 20 years.

Everything about this experience was perfect. The communication from Hannah at Propeller was amazing. I have used the Propeller website for many years and believe they promote great things. Many of the causes they promote are causes that I fight for for my two young daughters.  Thank you propeller!
