The new Taliban regime in Afghanistan — and its strict interpretation of Sharia law — has raised international concerns regarding the safety of vulnerable populations, particularly women, religious and ethnic minorities, LGBTQI Afghans as well as Americans and foreign nationals who remain in the country.
LGBTQI Afghans are living in fear for their lives. Many have gone into hiding and others are trying to flee the country. The Human Rights Campaign and partner advocacy organizations are launching a 10-point action plan calling on the Biden Administration to expedite and ease the refugee and asylum process for LGBTQI Afghans, and we need your support to do it.
