We need to continue to fight for civil rights in the modern day, especially for those experiencing discrimination in the LGBTQ+ community that have been unjustly excluded essential spaces and services in the US.
The Equality Act bans discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity in America's public facilities, including recreational spaces, stores, schools, transportation and more. It also prevents discimination from essential accomodations, including employment, credit, and federal funding.
All in all, the Equality Act would provide explicit protections for those in the LGBTQ+ community, protections that would ultimately improve conditions for women, BIPOC, and people of all faiths. As of today, it has passed in the House or Representatives. However, the Equality Act still has some ways to go before it's signed into law. We need your help to continue to fight until everyone has these protections.
