PAWS Chicago rescues homeless animals locally and from animal welfare organizations in 14 states, finding homes for more than 5,000 dogs, cats, puppies and kittens each year. Additionally, PAWS Chicago performs nearly 17,000 spay and neuter surgeries annually. Spaying and neutering are the key to reducing pet overpopulation.
Charity Navigator, the nation's largest independent evaluator, has rated PAWS Chicago at its highest 4-star ranking for 17 consecutive years—an accomplishment that less than 1% of the charities in the nation have reached.
