About Sounds of Saving

Our mission is to use a connection to music of all genres as a direct path to greater mental wellbeing and to hopefulness during crisis in order to decrease suicide.

We do this through providing or directing people to education, resources, and treatment, both in person at live events and online. We also create original content that spreads awareness through personal stories from artists and fans about living through and recovering from difficult times. This contagion of hope is known as the Papageno effect — the impact that media can have by presenting non-suicide alternatives to crisis.

In order to sustain operations, Propeller typically retains a small fee from any revenue earned by a cause that uses the platform. Propeller never charges a fee of more than 20% of revenues received via the platform. In addition, Propeller uses secure third party payment processors that also deduct their transaction costs. The applicable cause receives no less than 80% of the proceeds donated after deduction of fees and payment processing fees.
