Winner Recap: Win a VIP Trip to Night 2 of Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, OH

July 9th, 2024

Leah G. from Kentucky was the winner of the Propeller experience to "Win a VIP Trip to Night 2 of Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, OH" that took place in June 2024. Below are some of Leah's highlights from the experience.

I was lucky enough to win VIP tickets to Buckeye Country Superfest through Propeller and it was one of the best experiences of my life! The prize included 2 VIP tickets to the festival, backstage viewing for Turnpike Troubadours, VIP tickets to the Saturday pre party to see Wyatt Flores, and my travel and hotel expenses were covered.

I entered the contest after my best friend, Kayla, took me to see Tyler Childers in Nashville. I was in a really rough spot mentally and that trip with my bestie started to heal my aching heart. When I saw the experience for Buckeye Country Superfest through Propeller, I was determined to win because the headliner, Zach Bryan is one of Kayla's favorite artists. She's showed me so many amazing musicians and now Zach Bryan is at the top of my list too! I love that Propeller shows you the odds of winning because it allowed me to strategize entries! Obviously the contest is a random drawing, but never doubt the power of manifestation and a little math.

I originally found out about Propeller through an email I got when I purchased tickets to see Justin Bieber around 3 years ago. When I scrolled through I saw there was an opportunity to upgrade your tickets to his show and get VIP seats. I started donating to charities and Propeller to earn double points and ended up winning the VIP seats! Kayla was my obvious companion to the show and we kept saying "we won we won we won!" before ever winning, but it worked! Read the fine print, there's gold in there!

Ever since then, I've donated monthly to Propeller because I realized how much of an impact they have on the world. The charities and causes they support are extremely crucial if we want to change our world for the better. I was fortunate enough to have a once in a lifetime experience with my best friend at Justin Bieber and felt it was only right to continuously give back after that. I've entered a good amount of contests since then and never hit, but I didn't want them as bad as I wanted the ones I ended up winning. When I entered the contest for Buckeye Country Superfest I sent that same text to Kayla saying "I won I won I won!" as soon as I entered, but well before the contest ended. I was so excited to send her the actual texts months later saying I actually won!

Now my hopeful heart and somewhat silly manifestations for sure helped, but I definitely looked at my odds and didn't leave this all up to fate. I saw there was an opportunity to sign up for BetterHelp therapy through Propeller and I was still in a really bad place mentally and knew I needed therapy but just couldn't afford it and was nervous to open up. But signing up through Propeller got me a discount off my subscription and also earned me 10,000 points which is A TON if you pay any attention to points you can usually earn. What sealed the deal is knowing I earned double points for any action because I donate monthly to be a Propeller Premier member. That's 20,000 points!! I thought it was worth it to give therapy a try because of the points I could earn and I desperately needed it so it seemed like a win/win. I entered every point into this contest and my odds were only 1 in 23 I believe.

I screamed and jumped up and down when I received the email about winning. I was so stoked!! Because the concert was in Columbus, OH and I live in northern Kentucky, Propeller gave me the option to drive myself up there (with expenses covered) instead of flying since it's only 2 hours away. That was awesome because I didn't have to fuss with an airport and could bring all the suitcases my Subaru could handle! Propeller also covered our stay at the Blackwell Inn which is right across the street from the venue and a super nice hotel that I wouldn't be able to afford on my own. They also covered valet! We drove up a day early to catch the Pre Party show with Wyatt Flores at the Newport Music Hall on Saturday and had a blast watching from the balcony. We tried to take it easy that night so we would have all the energy for the festival on Sunday.

We picked up our concert tickets from the Blackwell Inn and even checked in a little earlier than expected. The room was spotless and had an amazing view of the tailgate and the venue! We got ready as fast as we could and headed over to the festival.

Because we were VIP, we got to enter through a faster line, access a special VIP lounge area, and both got a super sick merch bag! When I saw our seats my jaw dropped. We were 10 rows from the front and right next to the center stage walkway that comes into the crowd! I was smiling like a child the entire time I just couldn't believe it.

We made it in time to catch 49 Winchester, who Kayla also introduced me to and I fell in love. Then we found her cousin Sam and her boyfriend Alex and all watched Charley Crockett together. After that we met up with our festival contact, Melissa, who escorted us backstage for Turnpike Troubadours! I had no idea that's what "special viewing area" meant and wow I was blown away! It was so cool to see how everything operated behind the scenes and was very humbling to see that giant crowd of people and know I was the lucky one who got the most unique experience with her best friend. We both got a set list and were so hyped on it. But I think Kayla was the most hyped to meet J.R. Carroll, who is a phenomenal artist and also the keyboardist for Zach Bryan. She was too excited to mention it, but just incase he sees this, it would be super cool if J.R. performed an original song as an opener for Zach Bryan. We would proudly dance front row if that ever happens!

After our unique backstage experience, we went back to our amazing seats and caught a killer set by Billy Strings. Boy that man can play a guitar! The whole band is crazy talented and we danced our little hearts out.

Then it was time for the GOAT, Zach Bryan. I don't think I could put into words how special his show was. It felt like he was singing just for us because we were that close! But then the crowd echoed his every word and once again I was overcome with the most intense feelings of gratitude. Of all the people that entered, I was the lucky one to be standing where I was. And I was standing there with my best friend of 15 years. Nothing could be sweeter. That was the best concert of my life.

Thank you so very much Propeller and Buckeye Country Superfest. Thank you to all the performers and workers. But most importantly, thank you Kayla for always being my ride or die who also shows me amazing music. I'm eternally grateful for it all.
