ABOUT THE CAUSE
Help Musicians, the largest provider of health and welfare support for the British music industry, has announced Music Minds Matter - a global campaign for music industry-wide support of the world's first dedicated 24/7 support line and service for people working in music.
Music Minds Matter will fund the setting up a phased nationwide support service in late 2017 that will be shaped and defined by key stakeholders, including musicians and those working in music. This service will aim to provide 24/7 advice and education that is qualified, professional, safe and focused. Where possible, it will also offer improved access and signposting to existing mental health services.
In partnership with Give an Hour, the US based non-profit organization that leads The Campaign to Change Direction, some of the proceeds will be used to change the culture around mental health so that those in the music industry, their fans and all of those in need are more easily able to seek and receive the help that they deserve.
Give an Hour will also engage its US network of volunteer mental health professionals to assist in growing the Music Minds Matter network of support.
With the help of Incubus, we are giving fans the opportunity to support the launch by taking actions which will be foundational to establishing the service.
